iJoomla announce a massive amount of product updates.

Let's mark down April 9th as a massive iJoomla fiest of component updates.

Let's start with that iJoomla Magazine and iJoomla RSS Feeder are now available for Joomla 1.5x.

If you have already purchased either of these extensions, you can download this upgrade for free. Just go to "My downloads/Licenses" and you will find a 1.5 version there.

If you are a new customer, when you purchase now you get 2 versions: for 1.0.X and for 1.5 -- for the price of ONE great deal!

Next up is Sidebars Version 1.0.8 for Joomla 1.0x with extra features to make this extremely useful component even better.

iJoomla Sidebars is a solid component allowing publishers to add as many sidebars as they want INSIDE their articles.  These sidebars can of course hold almost anything, ranging from Videos, Google ads, related articles, article teasers, modules and much more.

Additions include:

  • Automatic sidebars - Assign a sidebar to a category and it will show automatically on all the articles in that category.
  • Sidebar categories - Create categories for sidebars for better organization.
  • Copy styles - Copy a style to save time when giving your sidebars a uniform look.
  • Rounded corners - Give your sidebars that web 2.0 look with rounded corners.

iJoomla News Portal Version .0.0.25 for Joomla 1.0x has now also been updated with some really interesting addtional features.

  • 3 more module zones - Add any modules to your news pages.
  • 3 RSS feed zones - now you use these zones to automatically pull content from other sites.
  • 3 Featured article zones - Add an area with one or more articles from any section or category.
  • JomComponent support - The new version of News Portal includes JomComponent integration.
If you are upgrading, don't forget to add the new zone's tags to your layouts. Just go to Design->zones to see which tag to use for each zone, then go to Design->layouts, open each layout and add the zone tags where you want them to appear. If you are a first-time buyer, you won't need to add the tags, but you may want to move them around in the layout so that the zones will show where you need them to.

These new zones provide masses of extra flexibility, letting you add different zones to different page layouts. For example, you may want to use one of the RSS zones for the home page, one for the section page and one for the category page.

We will of course write an extensive review of these updated releases, for more information or to purchase any of the above components, please go to iJooma Joomla:enriched.

I am very happy to see that iJoomla News Portal has been released with those additional features, hopefully it will be made 1.5x compatible soon.

Sidebars v1.08 with rounded corners and automatic insertion into various article categories is a huge step in the right direction!

Hi Mike,

I absolutely agree with you, the added support for JomComments made me take the step to add it to Joomla Views, this will hopefully give people an incentive to comment on news and articles.

Cheers,

Tony
