JoomlArt really does a number with their launch of their latest template JA Fedora.
Quality Control was certainly on vacation when the (delayed) launch of Fedora took place earlier today.Does that sound pretty harsh? Well, considering the following points, you tell me.
- The launch was delayed four hours and only included 1.5x with 1.0x to come in 2-3 days.
- The official demo includes menu items that does not work, they show a puke page (404).
- The QuickStart does not include the additional menu items, and the only custom page included is Typography which misspells the template name as Fadora.
- The option to use a text logo is rendered mute with a way too narrow text area.
- The template variables is turned into a params.ini file without any commented options to guide you.
- There is no userguide to help you set things up - it is currently about 8 hours+ past launch still in the progress of being written.
There is also a lack of telling you anything about this template, modules, options, colors etc., it just feels extremely rushed out and again, Quality Control was not on the same boat as the rest of the team.
You expect more from a quality template club like JoomlArt, this was very shoddy done. I will keep you updated when they release v1.01 of this template, which probably will with the 1.0x release if we are lucky (?).
They would have been better off pushing the launch back a couple of days instead of just four hours, and launch it with 1.0x and get their things checked out before launching this shoddy release.
